Gaming Circles

Gaming Circles are one possible way to play like feminists and disrupt the video game industry.

I named the group “Athena’s Gaming Circle” after the town’s namesake, and in honor of the cleverest of Greek Goddesses.
Why Athena?
The first regular gaming circle happened in Athens, Georgia. I named the group “Athena’s Gaming Circle” after the town’s namesake, and in honor of the cleverest of Greek Goddesses.

A Gaming Circle is a group of like-minded people who want to learn more about video game play in a safe environment. It runs like a book club, but for video games. On this web site I give a list of some of my favorite games with tips, links, and discussion questions to help you get started.

Here is my blueprint for getting started.

In the time of COVID-19, obviously, in person meetups are stressful and not generally recommended. However, I recommend getting started on your favorite video conferencing software. This means you are not limited to people in your immediate geographies, and can use the opportunity to play with friends – old and new – in distant locales.

Not ready to start a Gaming Circle yet, but want to play?

That’s OK. Browse through the game lists and play on your own or check out my list of the best games to play while social distancing.
